CFCL plants at Gadepan, with a reassessed capacity of 2X 2620 MTPD Urea are of the state-of-the-art and are located on land measuring 1050 acres which houses the main Onsite plants, associated utilities, residential colony, railway siding and other service facilities.

The complex broadly comprises of 2 ammonia plants, 2 urea plants (4 x 1310 TPD trains), captive power and steam generation plant, water treatment units, ammonia storage, naphtha storage, bagging and other service facilities. Ammonia-I plant is a single stream plant of 1520 MTPD and is based on Haldor Topsoe’s Ammonia process and Giammarco Vertrocoke’s CO2 Removal process. Ammonia-II Plant is a single stream plant of 1520 MTPD and is based on Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) process and UOPs CO2 Removal Process. Urea-I plant comprises of two streams of 1310 MTPD each and the technology has been supplied by SnamProgetti of Italy. Urea-II plant comprises of two streams of 1310 MTPD each and the technology has been supplied by Toyo Engineering Corporation of Japan.

CFCL has excellent track record for Project Management of their both Gadepan-1(G-I) & Gadepan-II (G-II) plant. G-I project was completed without any cost and time over run. Capacity utilization of the plant has been one of the highest in the industry. The energy consumption of this plant has also been brought down and now it is one of the lowest energy consumers in the industry. Likewise, G-II project was completed in a record period of 29 months from zero date to commissioning and completed without any cost over run.

G-II plant was operated from 1999 to 2007 on naphtha as feed stock. Since April, 2007 Natural gas, through the second pipe line of GAIL from Vijaipur to Gadepan was allocated and since then this plant has been operating fully on gas. The capacity utilization of this plant is also more than 100% mainly due to high on-stream factor. The energy consumption for G-II plant was one of the lowest among naphtha based plants up-to March 2007. After changeover to gas, energy consumption per ton of urea is one of the lowest amongst the various urea plants.
